F - When did you first fall in love with fashion..?

C - As a kid I was always into dressing up in my moms clothes, I can honestly say I’ve never wanted to be anything else. It’s always been in me, I fell head over heels in love with fashion when I used to watch “What Not To Wear” Stacy and Clinton were my idols and I wanted to be just like them.

F - What does style mean to you?

C - Style is how you portray your personality to the world. You can say all you want “don’t judge a book by it’s cover” or “I don’t judge people by their appearance” but let’s be real we all do it. Show who you are through your clothes whenever you get the opportunity.

F - If you can use one word to describe your personal style what would it be..?

C - It may sound cheesy because it relates to my brand buuuut, my style is best described as “recycled”. Fashion is ever-changing but it is a cycle, my personal style is recycled in that a lot of my clothes have been around the block, whether its a dress or a top I made from a dress.

F - What made you pursue a blog?

C - I felt like I had a unique style and personality that I wanted the world to see, I met up with my friend Marsailis, he is a graphic designer and photographer, and he bought me carmenalexandra.com. The fact that he believed and invested in me just made me want to do better and want more for myself, the next week we launched my blog and it has been nothing but success since.

F - How did you get started with revamping clothing ?

C - I’ve always been a cheapo but soooooo into fashion, those are two things that definitely collide. Fashion is ever-so changing so you need to have the dough to keep up with the trends. One day I started looking around at my resources and seeing what was around me that I could use to make whatever is “in” and that’s how I got started.

F - Do you do special orders ?

C - Yes, I do special orders, anything on my blog can be ordered and I do custom orders. There is however a longer wait on shorts due to me having to find the size of the customer. All my items have a life-time warranty.

F - What’s next for you ?

C - My next big step in is moving out to Los Angeles, I’ve never felt so at home in such a big place and I know that’s where I need to be. Until I get there (planning for January) I’m currently working on expanding my customer base into Atlanta and surrounding areas while going to school for Small Business Management.

F - What inspires you ?

C - People inspire me, the world, everything. I can see anything from graffiti on the street to a model walking down the runway and get inspired. I love people watching, reading blogs, and browsing etsy I get ideas and let them flow.
